The Insurance Asia Awards recognize excellence in innovation, strategy, and impact across the Asia-Pacific insurance industry AIA Philippines was recognized in three categories for initiatives that advance community development, employee training and development, and accessible healthcare through MediCard, demonstrating how insurance can create meaningful impact beyond traditional protection.

“As the needs of our customers continue to evolve, so must the role of insurance—not only as a source of financial protection, but as an enabler of better health, greater access to care, and stronger communities. These awards reflect our commitment to making protection more accessible and relevant to the people we serve, while fostering a workplace culture that empowers our employees to bring our purpose to life,” shared Melita Teo, President and CEO, AIA Philippines. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our team, and we remain committed to innovating and creating meaningful, lasting impact for our customers, communities, and the future of our industry.”

AIA Philippines earned its Health Insurance Initiative of the Year award for MediCard, its healthcare arm, in recognition of its integrated health ecosystem that empowers Filipinos to manage their health proactively. The result also highlighted AIA’s focus on providing a healthcare model built around better access alongside better coverage.

In addition, AIA Philippines’ EDGE (Early Development & Growth Experience) program earned the Community Initiative of the Year award for helping prepare university students for careers in insurance and financial services while strengthening the company’s long-term talent pipeline. The inaugural program drew more than 2,000 applications from leading universities and onboarded 18 interns with a 100% offer acceptance rate. Beyond its recruitment outcomes, the program helped participants build financial literacy and gain firsthand exposure to careers in insurance and financial services.

“Grow@AIA: Growing Talent, Driving Impact” earned AIA Philippines the Training & Development Initiative of the Year award for its enterprise-wide approach to capability building.
