PlayTime CARES, the corporate social responsibility arm of PlayTime Entertainment, swiftly mobilized to assist families affected by the powerful earthquake that struck the Davao region. Guided by its mission to “Give with Heart,” the organization immediately responded to the urgent needs of communities impacted by the disaster.
PlayTime CARES accelerated its relief efforts by working hand in hand with the Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI), the trusted socio-humanitarian arm of TV5. Recognizing that the hours following a major disaster are critical, the two organizations coordinated closely to overcome logistical challenges and deliver immediate financial assistance and essential relief supplies to communities struggling in the aftermath of the earthquake.
The company turned over PHP 1.1 million worth of groceries and other essential goods to AKFI. These supplies were transported via several truckloads and will be distributed to the municipalities most severely affected by the disaster.
Understanding that immediate care and comfort are vital during times of crisis, relief teams deployed mobile kitchens to the affected areas. Through this initiative, PlayTime CARES and AKFI provided hot meals to more than 1,000 displaced families, offering not only nourishment but also a sense of solidarity and support to residents coping with the emotional and physical impact of the earthquake.
“When a calamity of this scale strikes, every minute matters. Our immediate instinct was to move as quickly as possible to reach our brothers and sisters in Davao who were suddenly left vulnerable. With the help of TV5’s Alagang Kapatid Foundation, we were able to bring reliable support and warm meals to more than a thousand families. More importantly, we wanted them to know that they are not alone during this period of recovery,” shared Ms. PlayTime Digital 2025 Anne De Mesa, who represented the company during the turnover of relief goods at AKFI’s headquarters.
The joint relief team navigated challenging conditions and reached remote communities that bore the brunt of the earthquake as quickly as possible, leveraging AKFI’s established emergency response network.
