HONOR Philippines is proving that tech innovation goes beyond devices; it extends to how brands connect with consumers. Through a bold and data-driven approach to e-commerce, the leading global provider of smart devices has emerged as a standout performer on TikTok Shop, leveraging the platform’s full ecosystem to drive visibility, engagement, and sales.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, HONOR recorded a 1.7x performance increase compared to Q1 to Q3, securing its place among TikTok Shop’s Top 20 brands in the Phones & Tablets category and ranking #13 overall. The brand’s success is rooted in a strategic fusion of product innovation, content creation, and precision advertising, all guided by TikTok Shop’s ACE Indicator System, which focuses on Assortment, Content, and Empowerment to measure and optimize seller performance.
By implementing targeted product drops, viral content strategies, and high-impact ad placements, HONOR achieved a 174% growth in gross merchandise value (GMV) in Q4 2024 compared to the first three quarters of the year. These results highlight the brand’s ability to translate digital engagement into tangible sales, setting a new standard for tech retail in the fast-evolving social commerce landscape.
Driving Sales Through Strategic Product Launches
A key factor in HONOR’s success was its well-timed product launches and compelling offers tailored to TikTok Shop’s unique shopping experience. The introduction of the HONOR X7c during the 11.11 Paskong Panalo Sale served as a major growth driver, amplifying brand visibility during a peak sales period.
In addition, HONOR strengthened its online presence by rolling out exclusive discounts, including 10% off for the HONOR X9b during regular sales and up to 30% off with TikTok Pay Later. TikTok Pay Later is a credit-based payment method available on TikTok Shop, offering customers a “shop now, pay later” experience. Eligible users can access credit limits of up to PHP 50,000, repayable in up to 12 installments. This feature allows for flexible payment options, enhancing the shopping experience on TikTok. These incentives boosted sales and positioned HONOR as a top-performing brand within its category.
“We strategically time our product launches to coincide with major sales events, ensuring maximum consumer engagement and higher conversion rates,” said Stephen Cheng, Vice President of HONOR Philippines. “By aligning our releases with peak shopping periods, we create heightened anticipation and provide customers with exclusive deals, making our offerings even more compelling. On the other hand, TikTok Shop provides the perfect platform for us to showcase our innovations, offering customers both quality and value in a seamless shopping experience,” Stephen added.
Optimizing product listings also played a crucial role in HONOR’s growth. By strategically highlighting each device’s unique selling points, the brand drove a 114% increase in Shop Tab GMV and a threefold increase in non-affiliate GMV, proving the effectiveness of its organic and affiliate-driven sales strategies.
Engaging Content Fuels Consumer Connection
HONOR Philippines has also leveraged the power of content-driven commerce, turning TikTok Shop into a hub for immersive shopping experiences. The brand conducted daily livestreams, averaging 12 hours per day, to directly engage with potential buyers and build real-time connections.
This commitment to live selling paid off significantly, leading to a 400% increase in Live GMV during the 12.12 Paskong Panalo sale compared to regular business days. Quarter-on-quarter, live selling revenue skyrocketed eightfold, demonstrating the growing consumer demand for interactive and engaging shopping experiences.
Beyond livestreams, HONOR also amplified its presence by participating in viral challenges and trending short-form content, further boosting customer interaction. One of its most successful sessions even recorded a gross profit margin (GPM) of 17.72, proving that highly engaging content translates directly into stronger sales.
Leveraging TikTok Shop’s Tools for Sustained Growth
Beyond content and product strategy, HONOR Philippines has fully embraced TikTok Shop’s advertising and campaign ecosystem to strengthen its digital commerce leadership. The brand actively joined weekly and monthly platform-wide campaigns, reinforcing its commitment to long-term growth.
HONOR also maximized TikTok Shop’s precision-targeted ad formats, including Product Showcase Ads (PSA), Video Shopping Ads (VSA), and Live Shopping Ads (LSA). This investment in digital advertising resulted in a 4.5x increase in return on ad spend (ROAS) and secured HONOR a spot among the top 11 brands in the Phones & Tablets category during the 12.12 sale.
Honor Philippines is taking TikTok Shop by storm, reaching more customers and driving massive growth! 🚀📱 Leading up to the 2.2 Campaign, they’re going LIVE non-stop to showcase their top products, exclusive deals, and exciting surprises. 🎉 📅 Live Schedule: January 27 – February 3 ⏰ Up to 24 HOURS of non-stop streaming! Don’t miss out! #TikTokShopSuccessStory#SellWithTikTokShop#GrowWithTikTokShop
“Our strategic approach to TikTok Shop’s ad solutions has been instrumental in reaching the right audiences and driving impactful results,” Stephen Cheng, Vice President of HONOR Philippines, added. “By leveraging data insights and optimizing our campaigns, we’ve strengthened our visibility and customer connections, setting the stage for continuous growth.”
Setting the Standard for Digital Retail Excellence
As the e-commerce landscape continues to evolve, HONOR Philippines showcases how brands can successfully blend technology, content, and strategic marketing to thrive in the digital marketplace. Through well-timed product launches, immersive livestreams, and data-driven ad placements, the brand has positioned itself as a leader in the competitive smart device industry.
“HONOR Philippines has truly leveraged TikTok Shop to its full potential, using the platform’s unique tools to connect with local consumers in meaningful ways,” said Franco Aligaen, Marketing Lead at TikTok Shop Philippines. “Their success is a testament to how TikTok Shop empowers local brands, like HONOR, to compete on a global scale by combining innovation with a deep understanding of their audience, whether through live sessions, exclusive promotions, or creative content.”
Beyond its strong numbers, HONOR’s success underscores the transformative power of digital commerce. As the brand continues to refine its approach and expand its reach, it sets a compelling precedent for how businesses can thrive in the ever-evolving world of online retail.

A holistic approach to well-being is what drives BPI AIA Life Assurance Corporation (BPI AIA), a strategic alliance between AIA Philippines and Bank of the Philippine Islands.
With Filipinos shouldering about 44% of healthcare costs out-of-pocket1, BPI AIA provides financial solutions that ease this burden and empower families to prioritize their health and well-being. It’s the peace of mind you deserve, so you can focus on what matters most.”
Essential protection for those starting their journey
Individuals in their 30s are often juggling young families, growing responsibilities at work and at home, and establishing financial stability. For decades, success in the Philippines followed a familiar path: graduate from a good school, land a stable job, buy a house, and start a family. This traditional mindset shaped how many Filipinos pursued their goals. But in 2025, things are changing.
A new generation is redefining what success looks like. With economic shifts, technological advancements, and evolving social values, young Filipinos are moving away from rigid expectations. They are prioritizing financial independence, passion-driven careers, and overall well-being over conventional milestones.
The Rise of Passion-Driven Careers
Stability no longer outweighs passion. Many young professionals today seek careers that align with their interests and values rather than simply chasing high salaries. The rise of freelancing, entrepreneurship, and content creation allows Filipinos to forge their own paths outside traditional corporate jobs.
The digital world has opened up opportunities like never before. Artists, educators, and influencers are turning their skills into sustainable careers through platforms like YouTube and TikTok. Remote work and the gig economy are also enabling professionals to work with global clients without leaving the country, redefining career stability.
Financial Independence Over Traditional Milestones
Owning a house and car was once a symbol of success, but today’s younger generations are shifting their financial priorities. Instead of rushing into homeownership, many Filipinos are focusing on financial independence—building emergency funds, investing in stocks, and starting side businesses.
More people are exploring real estate investments, and small-scale entrepreneurship. Renting instead of buying property gives them the flexibility to travel or pursue new opportunities. The shift from material wealth to financial security reflects a deeper change in what people value.
Work-Life Balance as a Non-Negotiable
The traditional 9-to-5 grind is losing its appeal as more Filipinos prioritize work-life balance. Remote work, hybrid setups, and flexible schedules are becoming the new norm.
Many young professionals value time over money, choosing careers that let them travel, spend time with loved ones, and take care of their mental health. Companies, in turn, are adapting by offering wellness programs and shorter workweeks to attract and retain talent.
Redefining Relationships and Family Life
The pressure to marry young and start a family is no longer as strong as it once was. More Filipinos are choosing to focus on self-growth before settling down.
Some are opting for co-living spaces with friends, while others are embracing pet parenting instead of having children. Relationships are becoming more intentional, with emotional well-being taking precedence over societal expectations. As a result, marriage rates are declining, and family dynamics continue to evolve.
Social Impact and Community Engagement
Success is no longer just about personal achievements—it’s about making a difference. More Filipinos are supporting sustainable businesses, engaging in volunteer work, and advocating for social causes.
Entrepreneurs are merging profit with purpose by launching businesses that address social and environmental issues. Consumers, in turn, are supporting brands that align with their values. This shift highlights a growing awareness that success includes contributing to a better society.
The definition of success in the Philippines is evolving. No longer confined to traditional milestones, it is now more personal, flexible, and experience-driven. Young Filipinos are prioritizing passion, financial independence, work-life balance, and social impact over rigid societal expectations.
As we continue through 2025, one thing is clear: success is no longer one-size-fits-all. Instead, it is shaped by individual aspirations and values. The real question is – How do you define success?

Manila, Philippines – Proper maternal care is as important as an obligation, in bestowing each child a healthier start in life. Bolstering support and guidance to Health Facilities that are involved in maternal, pre-natal, and ante-natal care ensures that mothers and their babies are provided with high-quality healthcare that is effective, safe, equitable, and efficient.
An increasing number of women choose to have their babies born in primary healthcare facilities such as public and private lying-in clinics. The Department of Health has set the standards for these facilities to ensure the safety of the mothers while providing essential services and health education on the cascade of care for both mommy and baby.
Dr. Maria Lourdes E. Eleria, Acting City Health Officer II of the Quezon City Health Department, re-affirmed the value of the Seal of Excellence Awards as it raised the LGU’s standards for the protection and safety of mothers and children.
Recognizing the role of private lying-in clinics as partners in maternal and neonatal care, the Quezon City Government, through the QC Health Department (QCHD), and Unilab Inc. have been recognizing these private health facilities with a Seal of Excellence for achieving all Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) indicators based on the Department of Health’s MNCHN Tools. This year, the Seal of Excellence was awarded to 42 private lying-in clinics, the highest number of honorees in its 8-year run.
For the year 2024, there are 60 private lying-in clinics listed in Quezon City, 70% of which have met the standards of the Seal of Excellence. This is the highest percentage of compliant lying-ins in Quezon City on a yearly assessment. These standards include Updated Licensing and Accreditation; Compliance with Service Delivery Network requirements; Provision of quality MNCHN services such as counseling, immunization, newborn screening, and family planning; along Adherence to Policies and Ordinances of the City Health Office including compliance with the Milk Code to support optimal infant and young child feeding practices.
Nurturing the future
The 8th year of the Seal of Excellence Awards is a testament to the long-standing partnership of Unilab and the Quezon City Government particularly on maternal and child health. Unilab has been providing the local government unit of the largest city in Metro Manila with support to address challenges in maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity.
42 Private Lying-in Clinics in Quezon City were recognized in achieving all essential Maternal Newborn and Child Health Nutrition (MNCHN) indicators using the Department of Health’s approved MNCHN Tools.
Through the years, Unilab has conducted a series of training programs for barangay health workers, midwives, and doctors, and has collaborated with QCHD to pass a Local Health Board Resolution granting the Seal of Excellence to Compliant Private Lying-ins, as the only award in this category nationwide.
The Seal of Excellence is a quality label awarded to those who have achieved all essential maternal, neonatal, and child health indicators. The incentives given to Seal of Excellence awardees include training, clinical case conferences, and scientific symposia for continuing professional development, issuance of health certificates, emergency transport services, and inclusion in the official website of QC.
“Quality care is a critical issue for maternal and newborn health. In Quezon City, under the leadership of Mayor Joy Belmonte, we are committed to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of reducing maternal deaths by 2030. Stronger maternal health is essential in ensuring healthy lives, reducing poverty, and achieving gender equality. This is why this partnership with Unilab for the past eight years towards the Seal of Excellence for our lying-in clinics is crucial in the delivery of service to mothers and their newborns,” says Dr. Ramona Asuncion D.G. Abarquez, Officer-in-Charge, City Health Department, Quezon City.
Dr. Maria Lourdes E. Eleria, Acting City Health Officer II of the Quezon City Health Department, re-affirmed the value of the Seal of Excellence Awards as it raised the LGU’s standards for the protection and safety of mothers and children.
Unilab is committed to working towards a healthier Philippines, one community at a time. Claire de Leon Papa, Head for Social Partnerships, emphasized, “As a 100 percent Filipino pharmaceutical and healthcare company, we are focused on providing quality medicines and access to healthcare for our fellow Filipinos. For eight years now, initiatives include developing programs and partnering with organizations such as the QCHD in our shared commitment to building a healthier and future-ready country.”
The Singapore Embassy in Manila hosted a lively Lunar New Year Reception to celebrate the Year of the Snake, bringing together business partners, investors, and stakeholders to mark the occasion and reaffirm Singapore’s role as a key economic partner of the Philippines. The event was held on 12 February 2025, the 15th and final day of the Lunar New Year, at the Singapore Embassy in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The 120 guests were treated to an energetic traditional Lion Dance. They also participated in the “Lo Hei”, an uniquely Singaporean tradition of tossing a prosperity salad to bring good fortune and good luck. The festive gathering was graced by Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano. Other guests included leaders from the private sector, key industry stakeholders, and government representatives, reinforcing Singapore’s commitment to expanding trade and investment with the Philippines.
In her remarks, Singapore Ambassador Constance See underscored the robust trade and investment ties between Singapore and the Philippines, highlighting Singapore’s position as a top foreign investor in the country.
Ambassador See noted that Singapore and the Philippines share a deep and dynamic partnership. Singaporean companies are actively contributing to the Philippines’ growth across critical sectors such as smart and sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy, water and waste management, digital innovation, and financial services. These are long-term investments in the Philippines’ future, reflecting Singapore’s confidence in its economy and people. The Philippines’ entrepreneurial spirit and strong economic fundamentals make it an attractive partner for Singaporean businesses.
Singapore has been among the Philippines’ top foreign investors for years, with FDI commitments around USD 700 million in 2023. The economic partnership continues to evolve, with increasing interest in climate technologies, decarbonisation, sustainability initiatives, and carbon and transition credits, as both countries work towards a greener and more resilient future. Ambassador See highlighted the trend of growing Singaporean FDI into the Philippines. In the five year period from 2017 to 2022, Singapore investments in the Philippines grew by almost 40%.
Ambassador See also noted that “2025 marks 60 years of (Singapore’s) nationhood—six decades of resilience, reinvention, and resourcefulness. We are a small country, but we have always believed in thinking big, staying agile, and forging strong partnerships. And one of our most trusted partners in this journey has been the Philippines.”
Last year, Singapore and the Philippines celebrated 55 years of diplomatic relations. The high-level exchanges in the past year included President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr.’s keynote address at the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue and the visits of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan to the Philippines. These reaffirmed the deep and enduring bilateral ties.
Beyond trade and investment, the two countries enjoy multifaceted cooperation in areas such as education, culture, labour, biodiversity conservation, defence and security. A Republic of Singapore Navy vessel will call at the port of Manila from 13 to 16 February 2025, as part of a goodwill visit, reflecting the excellent bilateral defence relations and growing defence engagement.
“Singapore and the Philippines have always embraced challenges as opportunities. As we enter the Year of the Snake—symbolising wisdom and adaptability—I hope we can seize new possibilities and build an even stronger future together,” Ambassador See added.
Manila, Philippines – Sun Life Financial-Philippines Foundation, Inc. (Sun Life Foundation) and its implementing partner, AHA! Behavioral Design® (AHA! BD), were recently recognized at the 60th Anvil Awards after Sun Pera-Aralan, the first behavioral finance program for public school teachers in the Philippines, won both the Grand Anvil Award and the Gold Anvil Award.
Sun Pera-Aralan was launched in 2018 by the Sun Life Foundation in response to the PHP 300 billion debt crisis faced by public school teachers. The program has taken a one-of-a-kind approach by employing behavioral science to promote and develop positive and practical daily money habits that do not disrupt the teacher’s routine.

The program also fosters an online and on-ground community of practice, where participating teachers can interact and encourage each other in applying behavioral finance in their daily money management habits.
Sun Life Foundation and AHA! Behavioral Design® receive the Grand Anvil Award at the 60th Anvil Awards
Currently, Sun Pera-Aralan has reached 108,000 public school teachers across the country. This 2025, Sun Pera-Aralan aims to reach 130,000 teachers in time for Sun Life Philippines’ 130th anniversary.
