Epson Philippines Corporation reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation with a recent tree-planting event held at La Mesa Eco Park in Quezon City. This initiative is part of Epson’s ongoing efforts to protect the environment and preserve Metro Manila’s vital green spaces, often referred to as the “lungs of the city” due to their role in improving air quality in densely populated urban areas. Epson believes that impactful actions—whether through its innovative technologies or community programs—should leave a lasting positive legacy.
During the event, Epson employees planted 221 native tree seedlings strategically across the park. These particular species were selected to enhance biodiversity and aid in the restoration of the watershed areas impacted by urbanization. As these trees grow, they will contribute to soil stabilization, cleaner air, and improved water retention in the La Mesa Reservoir, a crucial water source for millions of residents.

This tree-planting activity follows a similar initiative in July, where 150 seedlings were planted in the same location. Epson’s return to La Mesa Eco Park within the same year highlights the company’s dedication to long-term environmental care rather than one-off efforts. This consistent approach allows volunteers to be part of ongoing progress that benefits the ecosystem over time.
La Mesa Eco Park remains one of the few remaining forested areas in Metro Manila, playing an essential role in maintaining the region’s ecological balance. Epson’s partnership with the park supports conservation efforts that rely heavily on the involvement of volunteers and private organizations to restore forest cover and safeguard the watershed’s resilience.

“Environmental stewardship is deeply ingrained in our company values,” said Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines. “Our employees demonstrate this commitment daily, both in their work and through initiatives like tree planting. Each seedling at La Mesa Eco Park symbolizes our collective responsibility to protect the natural resources that sustain our communities.”
Through projects like this, Epson continues to transform its sustainability goals into meaningful action, encouraging employees to contribute to a greener and more resilient future for local communities.
